Vivian's First Haircut!

Vivian's locks are adorable. But her hair is growing like a weed!

We call this look "The Pinapple." Cute, but her hair was getting so much in her face and eyes that she would cover her left eye with her hands to shield it. Her eyes were constantly watering.
And so it was either a pirate's eye covering or give her hair a cut. With the help of Mama Ela (Vivian's Nanny), we took care of the problem! Still curly locks in the back, but a few bangs in the front. They're a bit short, but they'll grow in. I'm just glad she's not rubbing her eyes and crying over whispies getting into those baby blue/green/greys!

Smile!

Out of nowhere, Vivian has decided that this is her smile. Eyes closed, nose scrunched, chin lifted, and big grimace. So now, everytime I have the camera and ask her to smile, this is what I get...
Smiling while on Mr. Zebra
Showing off 5 teeth...

Oh. My. Goodness.

Night out with the Zuritas!

Vivian, as wiggly as she is, had difficulty with her restaurant-provided high chair. At first it was neat, but the novelty wore off and she decided to give us some entertainment.

legs smooshed
wait, wrong way

to the left...
and finally right!

It was a balmy evening...And our friends Holly and silly David.

Lemon, anyone?

Just like her Grumpa, Vivian likes lemons.
She makes a face...
...but bravely bites again!

Beach Day!

This summer we've enjoyed the beach more than any other summer here in Virginia. It took awhile for Vivian to get used to the pool, and even longer to get used to the ocean. But she likes it now. She especially is fond of climbing into buckets filled with water. Her own personal hot tub!

Vivian's friends assist her in bucket sitting...

Hey! There's Noah! Inches off the sand! One of Vivian's many love interests.

Sand is interesting too.

May I borrow that boogie board, Josh?

Summer Safari

We enjoyed 4th of July weekend at the Norfolk Zoo. This is the train that almost didn't make it. It stalled (or whatever trains do) at least half a dozen times.
The monkeys are very friendly here and often jump right on your shoulders!

Looks like Vivvy is phoning home. With only glass to separate them from each other...

Checking out the prairie dogs. And Mommy taking a picture.

This goat too seemed to have some sort of connection with Vivian.

The Angry Strawberry

Clearly Vivian did not want to participate in the fashion show.
